We’re so pleased to present to you the second single from our upcoming debut album. The song is called ‘Hammer’ and it delivers a short and powerful burst of energy with a lyrical theme consistent with the rest of the upcoming album. The hammer represents the power that exists in each of us from birth, a power far greater than any other creature owns. We have the power to create or destroy at will and on a huge scale, even global. The song focuses on the choice we face about how to use our power, for the good of us all or for self interest.
On Friday 1.5. we’ll be releasing Hammer, the second single from our upcoming debut album Planted Feet. 🔨
Stephen our singer had this to say about Hammer. 📣
“After being hit by the heavy feel and driving simplicity of this track I imagined the human race being handed a powerful tool from birth, a tool to shape the world into anything imaginable. That tool had to be a hammer, a powerful force of creation or destruction depending on your intentions. As humans we’re uniquely faced with that choice of how we impact everything we touch, for better or for worse we make our decision when we strike our target”

We acted quickly to make a small statement about what’s happening in the world right now. A couple of countries have been in the spotlight for choosing to allow corona virus to spread under the guise of building herd immunity in their populations. This action went against the global scientific consensus on managing pandemics and the results appear to be appalling. The idea for this song popped up from a few words jotted down and after a few messages exchanged between our band members the song was recorded separately from our own homes. This was in respect of the situation here in Finland and in accordance with the law regarding our drummer who lives in a different region. The song went from first lyrics to final master in around 48 hours.
Stephen our singer had this to add…
“It seems to me that not all leaders intend to lead you to safety. Some leaders are shifting you around like cash and they’ve no problem with you getting torn apart because there’s plenty of fresh cash in the stash. The people who work the hardest and who support our communities are not found in the offices of these poor leaders. Capitalism has taught us to idolise our abusers and to protect them instinctively whilst being suspicious of our familiars, of our neighbours, of our fellow citizens and human brothers and sisters. We’re accepting a system that takes too much from the many and hands it to the few and I think we can do a lot better. It is capitalism that drives bad leaders to send their own citizens into the face of a deadly disease in order to attempt an outcome that saves their own and their friends’ money.”

We recorded our band’s debut concert in January this year at Vernissa in Finland. We wanted to have a record of this night and we wanted to have a good one! We think it’s a fitting way to set the scene for Frozen Factory’s future and we invite you to take a peek at some our new material making it to the stage for the very first time. It was a pleasure to play to a small but lively audience in the atmospheric Vernissa where the light shows are local legend.
We had an amazing, nervous and galvanising experience performing our first gig together in January this year and we had planned to gradually release our pro-shot record of this entirely new music being performed over the coming months. Corona has changed everything and we feel that it’s the right time to share this positive experience with as many people as possible since finding live entertainment is getting harder across the globe. So on Friday 20.3. We’ll be premiering ‘In The Beginning’ Frozen Factory Live @ Vernissa much earlier than planned. We hope you find our first moments on stage together to be entertaining and we’ll consider you a part of our early story. Here’s the event https://www.facebook.com/events/1416919961841777/
Our new single Tiresome Times is out now on all major streaming and download services worldwide. This is the first release from our new lineup featuring Stephen Baker on vocals who joined the band in Spring 2019 and Mici Ehnqvist on guitar who joined in Summer 2019. We’re not planning to stop here and this will lead soon to a full album.
Stephen had this to say…
“We’re really excited to release something with this lineup as it feels like we’ve been creating almost non-stop in the background away from other ears. It’s a good time to release this song that was written before the current pandemic crisis but seems to reflect even more strongly the worries of the world right now. I wanted the lyrics to tell about how I have struggled to comprehend a world full of brainwashing news outlets, endless working hours, terrible deals for employees and never ending bills, all of which leave us no happier for the efforts we make. Whilst many of us fake solidarity with the richest people on Earth, those hoarders of wealth repay that blind faith with a kind of selfishness and abuse that is incredibly sad to see. Here’s hoping that common people everywhere get to know each other and unite to give all of us a better life and to protect the very core of life that is our planet.”
Here it is! The first single from our upcoming debut album ‘Planted Feet’ is now available on YouTube as a music video. The title of the track is ‘Tiresome Times’ and it’s a diverse sounding track that grows from a soft verse into a heavy chorus and twists towards a calm and thoughtful crescendo. In the video we play do-gooder activists who find that their message of peace and wellbeing for all is hard to deliver to a public who are uncomfortable with their stance.
The song will be generally released on 13.3.2020. Check it out now on YouTube…
